Boost programme overview and rules

The Boost programme is available to property owners and authorised property managers who have listed their properties through the Vrbo network, and is designed to empower qualified partners to give their listings increased visibility on dates of their choosing. 

All eligible partners will accrue and accumulate ‘power-ups’ for each of their active listings upon the acceptance of bookings and the completion of the respective stays. 

Then, for each of those listings with a Premier Host badge, the associated partner will be able to use those power-ups to set up a ‘boost’ for one or more selected travel dates to help improve, or ‘boost’, the average position at which that listing appears in traveller search results.

• For each eligible listing booked and paid for on our platform, the associated partner will earn one power-up for every pound received in traveller service fees, as well as partner service fees, as a result of such a booking.
• Upon acceptance of a booking, 20% of the total number of power-ups will be added to the partner’s account for that listing, and upon completion of the associated stay, the remaining 80% of those power-ups will be added to the account for that listing.
• Partners will not earn power-ups on bookings that are cancelled, regardless of the reason for cancellation; however, in most cases, partners will be permitted to retain the power-ups (20% of the total) that were credited to the account upon acceptance of a booking that is cancelled.
• Partners will earn power-ups on all active listings in regions in which the Boost programme is available; however, only those partners whose listings have a current Premier Host badge will be able to access and use those power-ups to set up search-position boosts for those listings.
• Power-ups are listing-specific and may only be used to boost the search position of the listing on which they were earned.  A Premier Host with numerous properties may not use power-ups earned on one listing for the purposes of boosting another listing.
• Partners may set up search-position boosts for their qualified listings up to one year in advance of the desired booking dates, and each such boost will remain in place until the listing is booked or until those dates have passed.
• Any unused power-ups (i.e. any not applied to a boost) will expire one year from the date on which they were earned, without regard to a partner’s ability to access or use those power-ups during the preceding year.
• Power-ups have no monetary value and may not be exchanged, traded, bought or sold.
• Search-position boosts are not unlimited.  For each desired booking date, the Boost programme tools will display a maximum search-position boost (‘max boost’) along with a cap on the number of power-ups that a partner may apply to boost the search position of that listing among similar, competitive listings in the area.
• Once a boost has been implemented for a listing, it may not be cancelled or modified except to apply additional power-ups to further boost that listing’s search position on a given booking date, up to the ‘max boost’ level for each such date.
• To facilitate the management of a high volume of listings by integrated property managers (IPMs), our system tools will automatically generate and present to IPMs various ‘boost opportunities’ applicable to eligible listings in each IPM property portfolio. IPMs will then have the option to accept or decline each such boost opportunity as presented. Such system-generated boost opportunities are not subject to modification.

By participating in the Boost programme, partners understand and acknowledge that the redemption of power-ups to set up a search-position boost for a listing will not guarantee a booking on the boosted dates, and further understand and acknowledge that the marketplace is dynamic, and that each listing’s average search position will fluctuate—even if boosted—based on factors such as the addition of new listings, changes in ranking metrics, booking of competing listings and the number of other listings in a given area that have also been boosted for those dates.

Participation in the Boost programme is subject to and governed by our terms and conditions, privacy policy, PM listing agreement and Premier Host programme terms applicable to each partner in each respective region (in general, ‘Terms’), and may be modified or discontinued upon reasonable notice by Vrbo, or as otherwise required by law or regulation. Violations of these rules, or of any of the applicable Terms, may subject partners to ineligibility to use power-ups, removal from the Premier Host programme, de-listing of one or more properties from the Vrbo network or removal from the platform.

The Vrbo network comprises traveller-facing websites of all regional and national subsidiaries and brands of Vrbo, including  Abritel and FeWo-direkt. References to ‘Vrbo’ and the ‘Vrbo platform’ are intended to include all such brands and websites.
