Cleaning practices show travellers your commitment to their safety and can put them at ease when they’re booking your holiday rental. Adding cleaning practices to your listing can also reduce the time spent answering questions.
Let travellers know that you take their safety seriously and follow cleaning practices, such as:
Cleaning and disinfecting
Cleaning and disinfecting are two different steps, and both are required to lower the risk of contamination. We recommend that you use a disinfectant approved by a government agency or health organisation. For more information on disinfecting, please see the cleaning and disinfection guidelines.
Contactless check-in
With contactless check-in, guests can check in and out without any person-to-person contact. Using a smart lock for contactless entry is convenient and allows different entry codes and access times for each guest. Make sure to test your locks often, regularly replace the batteries, repair missing or broken hardware and sanitise them between each stay.
Towels and bedding sanitation
Linens should always be washed at the highest temperature and dried completely before storing. For more tips on linen management, review the enhanced cleaning guidelines.
Time between guests
To put travellers at ease, avoid back-to-back stays. This may help minimise the likelihood of contamination by allowing enough time for an enhanced cleaning process.
Other cleaning best practices
Many partners also comply with their local government cleaning programmes or take enhanced training. You can tell travellers on your listing which programmes you’re currently following.
